Alex Camp

UX/UI Designer

ABOUT ME

Hi there! I’m Alexandra, but Alex for short. With a BSc Product Design Honours degree, UX/UI certification from Experience Haus and collaborating on four projects I bring a user-centered, evidence-led approach to creating intuitive digital tools. As a lifelong gamer I have a deep appreciation for immersive storytelling. I thrive in cross-disciplinary teams, having worked closely with stakeholders to balance technical feasibility with user needs. In addition, my multicultural education across the UK, France, Malaysia, and the USA has shaped my collaborative and inclusive design mindset, which I apply to my craft.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHIES

By critically examining existing beliefs and constraints I am able to uncover new perspectives and innovative solutions that might otherwise be overlooked.

Challenge Assumptions

By integrating storytelling into design, we as designers can craft engaging journeys that resonate emotionally with users, building strong connections and guiding them through the experience. This is very important to my design process.

Storytelling is Key

What have I been up to?

I recently completed a UX/UI career development bootcamp at Experience Haus in London, where I built upon my design skills and learnt the current industry processes of UX and UI design. During the program, I had the privilege of collaborating on three real-life client projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Life outside design

Video Games

As a keen gamer who actively engages with the community I focused my Honours Dissertation on the topic. Writing a sector analysis into the importance and awareness of accessibility within the gaming industry. Discussed and validated my research with a variety of charities that focus on gaming with disabilities and a neurologist.

Filmmaking

Scriptwriting and short film production, Dundee Scotland: I wrote the script and co-directed and produced a short film. I worked on the filming, acting, location sourcing, sound track and final production. This film is award-winning and has been involved in several film festivals.
